Newmarket sits at the north end of our regular York Region route, on the way up to Barrie. Most of the commercial glass here is along Davis Drive and Yonge Street, around Upper Canada Mall, and in the medical buildings that have grown up around Southlake. The historic Main Street downtown is its own thing: older brick storefronts with original-style windows.

Southlake is one of the larger regional hospitals in Ontario, and the area around it on Davis Drive is full of clinics, specialists’ offices and medical buildings. That kind of work has one rule: it happens when patients are not there. We schedule exterior glass early in the morning and interior glass after hours or on weekends, and we keep entrances clear the whole time.
The rapidway on Davis Drive changed the street, and newer mid-rise buildings keep going up along it. Retail along Yonge and around Upper Canada Mall is mostly ground-floor storefront glass, which takes salt spray every winter from the traffic on Yonge and Davis. The storefronts on Main Street South are older, with wood frames and smaller panes, and they are cleaned by hand with more care around the frames than a modern plaza needs.
Newmarket gets more snow than the southern part of the GTA, and the older neighbourhoods near Fairy Lake and the Tannery have a lot of mature trees. Eavestroughs that are full going into winter are how ice dams start, so the late-fall eavestrough clean matters more here than it does downtown Toronto.
